- Isolating and Cutting: We safely disconnected the compromised, live underground wiring.
- Junction Box Installation: We mounted a code-compliant, weather-resistant junction box (J-box) off the ground to keep all connections dry, clean, and elevated.
- Securing the Wires: We made safe, permanent splices within the J-box, successfully isolating the circuit from the damp crawlspace floor.
- Testing the System: With the hazardous short removed, we returned to the electrical panel. The 20-amp breaker was reset, and the kitchen outlets powered up perfectly with zero tripping.
